Trudeau Make The Call

A little social challenge in todays post. A plea to sign a petition to help a young family and a gofundme page to help them with their plight.

Bring Ayo Home, Go Fund Me Page

The Moran's are now over 100 days in Ghana waiting for our Canadian High Commissioner to approve the paperwork that will allow the family to bring their newly adopted son Ayo home. We started a petition yesterday encouraging Trudeau to make the call to get this done. We will post a link below for you to review. We admonish you to sign the petition and share with your friends, the government continues to pass the buck on this, we need to keep them accountable. Also please give as you are lead in your spirit and as your budget permits. May be you cover a half day like we did or simply a few hours of a day, everything helps. These delays are costing them $200 a day and with these excessive delays, the financial burden has exceeded all expectations. There is a video link in the petition that we encourage you to watch. Thank you Timothy Ross & Megan Elizabeth

We have 32 supporters as of writing this blog. It often takes a few days to build momentum.

Problem
"Kim Moran has been stuck in Africa for the past three months waiting for Ottawa to process documents and is now pleading for help. She said the adoption is complete but that the government is failing in its responsibility to bring them home.

“Everything they have asked for we have given them. We’ve had all the forms authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, all the forms are in order,” she told Global News via Skype. “This is a process that in most places, would have only taken a week.”

Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, Kim requires a special diet and medication. Her mother said the ordeal has been hard on her health. “It needs to be monitored every month,” Cindy Jeans said from her home in Port Hope, Ont.
“She needs to get home to see her specialist to get the proper care that she needs.”

The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, is well aware of this situation! Please click the link below and watch !! Question was asked last week when they would act to bring this family home in the Question Period at the House of Commons

Trudeau simply needs to make the call!!

Solution
These Canadians have respected the rules, which began over three years ago. They have been approved , and this should have taken no more than 7-10 days to be cleared. We are now over 100 days!! The application simply needs to be approved so that they can come home with their adopted son, Ayo. It's being held up by the Canadian process, not Ghana. Justin Trudeau, 613-992-4211 or justin.trudeau@parl.gc.ca, needs to make the call to the Canadian High Commissioner in Accra, Ghana ,
Ms. Heather Ann Cameron.

Perhaps Ghana's Honorary Consul General in BC can be of assistance in moving this forward as well, Mr. George Addei-Piprah.

Personal story
We have watched this unfold and are very concerned for the Moran family. Tim has known Clark and Kim since they were teenagers at Highway Pentecostal Church and watched them grow up, get married, seen them launched into Ministry and seen their struggles with Kim's MS, and we celebrated their courageous and loving decision to adopt a child. It is heart breaking to see the delays, and agonize over the health, the incredible financial stress our government has inflicted on this young family because of these needless delays. We have reached out to those that should have been able to encourage a resolution through normal channels , however there has been nothing done. We feel a petition should be created to bring additional awareness to this problem. It is affecting other families as well. As a nation we need to stand and support those that want to make a positive difference in a child's life. Thank you for your support by signing this petition and encouraging others to do so as well. Megan & Tim Ross

Message this evening from Kim Moran explaining what has happened to them  ....

    Kimberlee Moran
    4 hrs ·

On August 1st Clark Moran and I travelled to Nigeria to complete the adoption of our son, Ayo. Once the adoption was finalized and all required paperwork was completed and authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja, we travelled to the closest Canadian immigration office (Accra, Ghana) to complete the final step of our adoption process.

On Sept 24th we submitted Part 2 of our Citizenship Application for an Adopted Child (Part 1 of our application was approved in November 2017) and remained in Accra, Ghana awaiting a visa to bring Ayo back to Canada.

A month later we learned that our application had not even been opened, and although the Immigration Minister’s office indicated that adoptions are given priority, our file sat unopened for weeks.

We began our adoption process 3.5 years ago, we used an approved adoption agency, completed a homestudy, have received written approval from our province, and we have submitted every required document, but more than 7 weeks later we are still unable to return to Canada and no one is giving us any real answers.
There is no reasonable explanation for the delay and we have followed every single step exactly as we should have.

Our MP Ed Fast has reached out to the the immigration minister for answers and has not been given any satisfactory responses.

We are desperate for help and pleading with Canada to let us come home so our family can be together.

While on the site, I noticed this cup matter, we recycle our coffee cups , at least we think we do, apparently we have been advised at the dump that they are not recyclable. This research article discusses the problem. We will keep recycling those that get in our hand. We also use regular coffee cups at the office and while we travel. At the financial advisor conferences that I attended ttlast week, I brought my Brock Shores Financial coffee mug with me. I was the only one , the waste generated at those events was substantial. I did my part in the ocean of events. one in a thousand , one step at a time, maybe next year or at the next event one of my SRI or RIA associates will sponser coffee cups , we need to make a difference and bring some awareness to the problems , reducing waste has to be a top response.

Details behind the reason for this need

Hi Friends. - This is not something I have ever done before, but it is a tugging in my heart I can no longer ignore. As many of you know today, August 22/18, marks week three of Clark and Kim Moran being in Nigeria on their quest to bring their son Ayo home.
Clark and Kim are co-lead pastors in Abbotsford, BC. Alongside their passion to serve and lead others, came their passion to adopt. Kim always says, "If you know there is a need and you can meet it, do it." After a 3 - year process of home studies and paperwork three months ago they finally received a call from the agency saying, "we have a boy, no one has claimed him, will you?" Without hesitation they said, "YES!"
During this three week period they have been working on their attachment with Ayo while doing everything they can to bring him home to Canada. Alongside the battle Kim faces with her MS, some health issues have presented themselves in Ayo's little body. Both of them, fierce fighters, but they need to get home to proper nutrition and medical care.
Your heart like mine probably exploded when they announced they were adopting. Maybe also like me you wake up with anticipation of new pictures, updates and news of what is happening each day in their lives. Their story has captured my heart. I celebrate each dimpled smile and report of good news, cry when they face a difficult circumstance and join them in prayer to intercede for the impossible to become possible.
I know this is something they chose. I also know this process has been long and expensive.
It was shared with me today that their time in Nigeria will quite likely be extended. Although the official adoption has taken place the paperwork will most likely stay sitting on someone's desk. This delays the process for acquiring a birth certificate and passports. Longer time means more expenses.
I’ve felt for a while I’d like to give something, but the amount I have seems so small and insignificant. That got me thinking, maybe others are feeling like myself. - If that is true we could combine what we have and make a significant difference!
I want to be clear on one thing - Clark and Kim have in no way requested for this to be done. This is something that keeps coming to my mind so I am acting on it. I have asked their permission and it has been given with reluctance - they are humbled and overwhelmed by the idea of it.
I compared it to being no different than us paying for a strangers coffee behind us in a drive thru. Okay, maybe a little different but the concept is the same...kindness and generosity are a choice. We don’t extend them to others because we have to, we offer both because we choose to.
Is there a need? Yes. Can we meet it? I believe we can surpass it. I am setting a goal because creating a campaign requires it. The amount is the current need, but it would be pretty fantastic to bless them beyond. - Will you help Bring Ayo (my joy has come) Akin (brave one) Moran Home?
